Breast Lift
A breast lift, known as mastopexy, is a cosmetic surgery to elevate and reshape sagging breasts. Factors like pregnancy, weight changes, aging, and gravity can lead to loss of firmness and position. During the procedure, excess skin is removed, surrounding tissue is tightened, lifting the breasts to a more youthful position. Nipples and areolas are repositioned higher, and areola size can be reduced. The result is firmer, aesthetically pleasing breasts.
Note that a breast lift doesn’t significantly change breast size. For both lift and increased volume, a combination of breast lift and augmentation with implants is an option. Best candidates have sagging or drooping breasts but are content with current size. As with any surgery, consult a qualified plastic surgeon to determine the best approach based on goals and anatomy.
